What is Psychotherapy?

Psychotherapy is a relational treatment designed to help people address emotional, behavioral and relational problems and concerns. Treatment is customized to each individual, couple or family and is designed to specifically address the unique characteristics of each person and the concerns that bring people into therapy. Psychotherapy has helped many people manage difficult life situations and find greater stability and richness in their lives and relationships.

What can I Expect at the First Session?

The first session is 50-80 minutes in length. We will discuss the concerns that bring you to therapy as well as what your hopes and goals are for treatment. This consultation is a time for us to get to know each other so it is a good time to ask any questions you may have about therapy.

How often should I come? How long are sessions?

Research has shown that regular attendance at your sessions is important for the best treatment outcomes. Sessions are scheduled weekly and sometimes are increased to twice a week.

Sessions for individuals are 50 minutes in length, sessions for couples and families are 80 minutes in length.
